I was in severe pain a few month back and my former Dentist was unavailable. I had some recommondations from people I know, but none of their Dentists would see me on short notice. I finally searched the web and noticed the great rating for the Brookshire Dentistry. I called and they let me come in the same day. I did not regret going there. As many people, I have fears going to a Dentist and to this day I'm impressed in how I was treated, considering I'm not a child. Dr. Kevin Afkami and his staff are just wonderful! I took my son there soon after and recommended the Dentist to a Coworker as well and both were completely satisfied with the treatment they received. To make a long story short....Kudos, Kudos, Kudos...I found a Dentist who is definitley worth my hard earned money and works with me to improve the health of my teeth and actually cares about his patients, not only the $$$ earned.

I had been putting off going to the dentist for about four years and it was finally time to face my demons. I did a lot of research and decided to visit Brookshire Dental. They were able to schedule an appointment at my convenience without having to wait for months. When I arrived, I only had to wait for a few minutes before my appointment. I had to have a root scaling and planing which took about 2 hours. On separate visits, I had a filling replaced by Dr. Chow and the procedure that I had been dreading the most: the extraction of four wisdom teeth. The extractions (done by Dr. Moore) were routine and my recovery hadsbeen suprisingly easy.

Dr. Afkami's facilities are state of the art; bethe best I have ever seen. His staff is first rate and always willing to answer any questions you might have. I would recommend Brookshire Dental to anyone.

About Hygienist: Natalie was my hygienist for the planing and scaling. Since my appointment was in the late afternoon, she had to stay long after the office closed as did two other staff members. Natalie was great through the entire procedure.

I actually had Dr. Afkami's asscociate, Dr. Carol Chang as my dentist today. She was FANTASTIC. I hadnt been to the dentist in almost 3 years. She was very personable, understanding of my personal health issues and knwledgable about how my cancer medication had affected my oral health. The work I had done today was no where near as uncomfortable or unpleasent as I remember dental care being and I would recomend this dental clinic to anyone.

About Hygienist: I had a hygenist named Valerie. She was fantastic. She talked to me about everyting she was doing and even gave me a hand held mirror so I could watch. She was very informative and did a great job. She was gentle on my teeth but cleaned them very well.

I am usually terrified of visiting the dentist. However, it was not so when I went to see Dr. Kevin Afkami. He is a WONDERFUL dentist. His staff was so VERY nice and reassuring. EVERYTHING was explained to me step by step. NO surprises! I went in with anticipating an extraction. I would rather loose a tooth than have to re-visit a dentist. Dr. Afkami and his staff explained the procedure and the importance of keeping my tooth, in terms that I could understand. He asked if there was anything his staff and he could do to help me with my anxiety, and he LISTENED!!!! He had me relaxed enough to go with a root canal and keep my tooth. During the procedure he talked to me to help keep me at ease. He told me to raise my hand if I had a question or if I was uncomfortable, or just needed a break. He took his time. I NEVER felt like it was rushed or hurried in anyway. He had wonderful "Chair-side Manners". I still have two more visits with his office in the near future to finish the procedure. I am not worried about them or the treatment I will receive. I know his staff and him will take GREAT care of me. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL DENTIST AND STAFF!!!!! I am so glad that I have now found a dentist for LIFE!!!

I have always been an "antidentite" since childhood, but Dr Kevin is wonderful! I've had several procedures done and recently I had two really bad teeth removed and the care was great. He is kind, gentle and very concerned about the procedure he is doing. I recommend him to every one that asks for a dentist. Esmerelda and the staff are great too, always there to answer any questions on insurance or setting up appointments. They even call the day after a major procedure to make sure that you are ok, can't ask for better patient service.

As a public health professional, I take my dental hygiene very seriously, and am very careful when choosing a dentist. I have been with Dr. Afkami for almost two years now, and the care he and his staff offer are unparalleled.

Dr. Afkami is genuinely concerned about his patient. For example, if a crown mold or temporary crown contains a mild flaw, he repeats the process to ensure the highest quality product and service. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area, and Dr. Afkami always takes the time needed with this patients.

His staff (dental hygienist, assistants, front desk staff, etc) are always very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I always receive a reminder the day prior to my appointment, and they are always willing to work with me in rescheduling an appointment, if necessary.

Dr. Afkami is by far the best dentist I have ever used. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is always making sure you are comfortable and in no pain. He is very gentle and always smiling when doing your dental work.

His staff is by far superior to any staff I have ever seen in a dentist office or health care facility. Every time I walk in, they greet me by my first name, smile, and ask how I am doing! The dental assistants are sooooooo sweet. I can't say that I have a favorite because they all are just so kind and always smiling. I wish I could bottle up their kindness and just spread it all over the dentistry and medical fields.

The office is very nice, they have comfortable reclining chairs and a personal tv with a remote in each room so you can watch your favorite show while waiting or having your work done. It is just like a spa to me. I always look forward to going and seeing all the staff. I have referred all my family and friends to these guys and swear by them. I don't have a single complaint to make. I can't even come up with one. Their prices are very good, the people are the sweetest, and the office is warm and cozy. All of the rooms have plasma tv screens with all chanells and he can display your chart on the screen and show you x rays etc. Dr. Afkami explains in detail any procedure he will be doing. My dental hygienist was outstanding and her name is Natalie. She showed me in detail what was creating problems for me and formulated recommendations and courses of action for Dr. Kevin Afkami and me to follow in order to correct all deficiencies. The Doctor concurred and finalized the plan and told me when we could get started and that he was prepared to perform all of the procedures. We will do!

Finally, the front desk associates were friendly and helpful. Moreover, the insurance specialist was patient and very informative. I walked away with a simple plan of action and strategy to correct all deficiencies in a few months.

The hygienists are super, good at their work, and quick. You only see the doctor for a few minutes, but he is very personable. There is only the slight discomfort that you normally get when your teeth are cleaned. The front desk is great. They take your picture so that they can call you by name when you come in. They are efficient and very friendly. They send you a reminder postcard. Insurance matters are swiftly taken care of - I just walk out after a covered teeth cleaning (no paperwork). The office is very nicely furnished, more like a day spa than a dentist's office. Calming colors, curved hallways, and t.v. to watch while your teeth are being cleaned.

Everything about Dr. Afkami's office is great. The ladies at the front desk are great. The office is clean and well ran. The staff is so great. I am very nervous at the dentists and they make me feel at home. All the staff is very patient and caring. Dr. Afkami is infomative and explains everything in detail, even while he works. There are TV's in the room to help get your mind off the work. I have now had two root canals and a filling. I would recommend him to anyone. My husband has had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and all his cleaning at their office. I am soon scheduling an appointment for my young kids. I am confident they will be very well taken care of here. We have definitely found our family dentist.
